Without $169 Million, Count Me Out Of The "Bogus" Awards Scheme- Shatta Wale

Organizers of Ghana's biggest musical event, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), Charterhouse is said to be lifting the ban they placed on dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

The duo was banned by the board of the award scheme after being involved in a heated brawl at the VGMA 2019.

In an interview with a local-based Accra radio station, Robert Klah who is the Head of Public Events and PRO at Charterhouse revealed that the members of the board have discussed lifting the ban on Shatta and Stonebwoy.

“There is a reason why this altercation happened and you want to be sure that they don’t resurface. You want to have that kind of conversation to understand and agree on how things should move".

But Shatta Wale reacting to the pending lift of the VGMAs ban initiated by Charterhouse in a virtual conversation with DJ Reuben made it emphatic that without a $169million negotiation, he’s forever out of the ‘bogus’ awards scheme.

In the voice of Shatta Wale in the same conversation with DJ Rueben, he’s no longer interested in the wooden plaques from the camp of Charterhouse to Ghanaian artists which comes with no money.

Therefore, going forward, serious business negotiations should be made and consensus agreed between Charterhouse and Ghanaian artists with him and Stonebwoy serving as agents of change!!
