The Ashanti Regional Health Promotion Officer with the Ghana Health Service, Mr Felix Frimpong, has said that tomorrow is the Global Handwashing Day to be celebrated across the globe to create awareness on the need to wash our hands to rid us of dirt.

The Ashanti Regional Health Promotion Officer with the Ghana Health Service, Mr Felix Frimpong, has said that tomorrow is the Global Handwashing Day to be celebrated across the globe to create awareness on the need to wash our hands to rid us of dirt.

Explaining to the host of Kwaku Kyeremateng Nkansah on The Fox Morning drive today, he said, Global Hand Hygiene was concluded in 2008 by the Global Hand Washing Partnership that, it should occur on the 15th of October each year to motivate and mobilize people around the world to improve their handwashing habits.

“The Ministry of Health in partnership with journalists in the region have been on sensitization exercise to the general public on the need for the habit to be adopted across these areas where the sensitizations are done.


It’s therefore important for us to be in tune with the concept to help fight virus bacterias and germs around us in our respective localities. It is for this reason and many that the day is designed to help fight diseases around us.


He concluded by saying that, if we cultivate the habit of handwashing as a means of practising hygiene, we can easily overcome these infectious diseases such as Diarrhea, worm infections, Covid”- 19, Cholera and other diseases.
