Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel George, has disclosed that a new private members bill against LGBTQ+ is set to be laid in parliament which will criminalise not just the activity but its promotion, advocacy and funding for the act.
Speaking at the Parliamentary Christian Fellowship meeting, he noted that it will become criminal for anyone to produce any promotional material that supports LGBTQ+, TV/radio stations to show content that supports the cause, any individual or body to support it.
He said, “We have established clearly that homosexuality is not a human right it is a lifestyle choice. So, we respect the human rights of practitioners of homosexuality to get a free and fair trial, however, their sexual orientation and choices cannot be deemed to be a human right and this is contained within the 1992 Constitution.”
This comes after the Speaker of Parliament revealed a bill to stop the promotion of activities of LGBTQI+ in the country will be introduced in the House this week. Alban Kingsford Bagbin said the bill will be passed before the end of the year
