South African Actress, Thandeka Mdeliswa Shot Dead
Popular SA actress, Thandeka Mdeliswa has been shot dead after getting into a heated argument with some men.
Famed South African actress, Thandeka Mdeliswa has been shot dead at her family home in Evander, Mpumalanga in South Africa.
The actress who became popular after starring as Khanya in the SABC 1 drama series Ikani, sustained gunshot wounds following a heated argument with her older brother and two other men at their family home.
One of the men allegedly grabbed his friend’s gun, shot the actress and immediately fled the scene.
Mdeliswa was quickly airlifted to Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria where she died on Saturday.
In a statement issued by her family, it read: “Her condition was critical but stable. She passed on in the morning of September 6. The circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation by SAPS. The brutality which was inflicted on our daughter has deeply hurt us. This is another incidence of violence against women.”
The police confirmed that the owner of the gun had been identified as the suspect but no arrests had been made yet.
“We are currently investigating the incident but have not arrested anyone. Yesterday, we brought the owner of the gun to book and we were advised to get the person who pulled the trigger.”
The police meanwhile urged anyone with information to come forward to help with the investigations.
