If Drivers Commits Motor Traffic Offence, Seize His Licence And Give Him Note To Indicate The Seizure Of His Licences- MTTD Commander

A situation whereby a driver commits a motor traffic offence demands that his license should be seized and given a note to indicate that his license has been seized for particular reasons while you allow him to go and alight the passengers at their destination and return to the police post, says ASP Emmanuel Osei, Motor Traffic and Transport Department commander for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality.

He said, if the offender (driver) fails to produce his license in the name of forgotten, it's presumed that he has no license therefore he doesn't qualify to drive so his vehicle should be parked at the nearest police station.

According to the law, you have to carry along your original driver's license and not a photocopy license because it is against the law to use a photocopy license to drive, he opined.

Mr Osei in furtherance cited some offences which are detrimental to human safety and also tantamount to punishment which includes loading on the highway or roadside (pedestrian lane) instead of a station, overspeeding, wrongful overtaking, driving without a license among others.
