The third wave of the COVID 19 pandemic has been fairly managed as cases in the Ashanti Region has been reduced drastically, due to the observations of the covid 19 protocols and the public adherence to the vaccination.
According to the Ashanti Regional Deputy Health Director, Dr Rockson Agyei, for the past five weeks, the recorded cases have stayed below fifteen urging that, though the third wave has declined, the public needs to be conscious, avoid complacency as the virus is still around.
He added that the health services so far have received and deployed more vaccines in the region to various vaccination centres saying that, all the COVID waves witnessed in the country were preceded by massive movement concentrated of people at locations and general disregard for the protocols.
He said, "If we should see the end of the third wave it is an opportunity to get vaccinated to prevent a possible fourth wave that could occur after Christmas".
"The Ashanti Regional Health Directorates has conceded groups that want to be vaccinated at their convenience to contact the deputy director of public health for arrangements with no cost".
"Be part of the fight against COVID vaccination is free, so get vaccinated now".
