As part of President Akuffo Addo and Dr Alhaji Bawumia led NPP Government's Digitalization Agenda, plans are far advanced for Ghana to establish the first-ever "Open University" which will be online accessibility to tertiary education for all in every location of the country without any barriers or restrictions.

Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo (MP for Abuakwa North Constituency) a Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) who gave this hint says this "Open University" program has become very necessary as a result of a successful implementation of Free Senior High School which yearly produces many eligible University candidates but the current capacity of our Institutions cannot admit all of them.

Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo spoke in an exclusive interview said, when she attended the Climax of "Girls in ICT" program for the Bono East region at the Valley University View Auditorium, Techiman campus.

Hon. Kwasi Adu-Gyan the Bono East Regional Minister who is also a Technology Expert (former Director-General of Ghana-India Kofi Anan Center of Excellence in ICT) was excited that Dr Bawumia's Digitalization Drive is already yielding results and pledged to expand computer training in Bono East region, especially in the rural communities for all to benefit from ICT. 

Hon. Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful the Minister for Communications and Digitalization revealed that the National Girls in ICT program has trained one thousand (1000) basic school girls selected from all eleven (11) municipalities and districts in the Bono East region in which each will get an ultramodern ICT centre after this course and ended by pleading with Nananom & Parents to ensure that their children take technology education seriously as it has become the order of the day.
