Ex-Prez Rawlings Goes Home on Jan. 27
The burial service for the late former president, Flt. Lt. (Rtd.) Jerry John Rawlings has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 27.
A circular from the Ministry of Information and Regional Integration to all Diplomatic Missions, International Organisations, and Honorary Consulates accredited to Ghana, said the former President would be laid in state from Sunday, January 24 to Tuesday, January 26 at the Foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre from 9 am to 5 pm daily.
The circular added that a mass will be organised on Tuesday, January 26, at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra from 9 am to 11 am.
The burial service will follow the next day, Wednesday, January 27, at the Independence Square in Accra from 9 am to 11 am.
The ex-military turned democratic leader passed on, on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after a short illness.
