Encourage Your Wards To Choose TVET Programs After BECE- Offinso North DCE Advises Parents

DCE for Offinso North in the Ashanti region, Hon. David Kwasi Asare Boakye affectionately called “Adwumawura”, is pleading with parents to encourage their wards who are writing this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination to choose Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses in order to help address the future challenges of unemployment.

He has called on Parents to ignore the perception that TVET is for students who couldn't pass well or are academically weak and rather let their children pursue such courses because that has become the surest way to development in our time.

Hon. Asare Boakye made this plea after he toured all 4 BECE centres in the Offinso North District where a total of 1,416 candidates comprising of 772 boys and 644 girls are writing with 22 absentees.

He reiterated that President Akuffo Addo led the NPP government's commitment to make TVET more attractive especially in the Offinso North where the MP Hon. A. C. Ntim has made Technical and Vocational training his major priority.
