COPEC Tells Gov’t To Reactivate TOR For Fuel Prices Stabilization

The Research Officer for the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana has called on the government to reactivate the Tema oil refinery to operate by refining our crude to reduce the cost of buying fuel in the country.

Sampson Addai in an interview with the press, should TOR come to operate, Ghana stands to benefit greater as we shall refine our crude get by-products, and users of fuel shall pay less than what we pay now.

According to him, what Ghana does is to send our crude to a refinery outside the country with a hard-earned dollar to pay for.

“We only import finished petroleum products which comes at great cost for the nation, he believes that when TOR comes to mainstream, Ghana stands to gain a lot of things includes, dugs fertilizers and others that the refinery will give for the country”, Mr. Addai added.
