A/R: Lack Of Furniture Forces Students To Sit On Bare Floor To Study At Kumpese - Akwasiso

Some classes of Kumpese - Akwasiso D/ A primary and JHS in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region are seriously battling a lack of furniture, and classroom blocks, with students being forced to sit on the bare floor to study.

According to the report by fox FM’s reporter Ekuoba Gyasi, the KG 1 class is one of the most affected classes with over 150 kids in a class.

The report further suggests that other classes are also without furniture while some of the classes have little furniture.

Ekuoba Gyasi again reported with pictures of 4 students managing a desk meant for only two students.

This has left some students with no other option than to sit on the floor during class lessons while others prefer not to attend classes as a result of the lack of desks in their classrooms.

The Assemblymember for Kumpese a community in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region Hon. Ebenezer Owusu when contacted explained that several letters were sent to the district assembly including the member of Parliament for the area but nothing has been done to avert the situation.

The Assemblymember is therefore called on philanthropists, Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs) including individuals who are willing to support them to come to their aid.
